Learner Voice Series: Izzy Fitzgerald

In this series, Michelle Cheang, director of Catalyze, sat down with alumni and current participants of Catalyze-supported career-connected learning programs. Through in-depth conversations, Michelle and the learners discuss their experiences, growth and career goals.

In the following videos, we'll hear directly from Izzy Fitzgerald, a learner with The Reinvention Lab, about how she has developed her career readiness, self-efficacy and self-awareness.

Originally from San Diego, Izzy has worked with The Reinvention Lab for more than four years, as both a student and part-time staff member. She thrives when reinventing spaces for young people and expressing herself through her personal style.

The Reinvention Lab at Teach for America (TFA) does early-stage research and development at the intersection of the future of learning and high-quality talent. In coalition with educators, researchers, students and communities, the Reinvention Lab collaboratively co-designs, builds and learns together to create new offerings to drive innovation and equity in learning.

Their current work focuses on experiential learning and virtual courses that empower educators to build with generative AI, FutureShock (a summer, project-based experience for college and career readiness in an ambiguous and ever changing career landscape) and chronic absenteeism ethnographic research. Previous projects include Crossing the Canyon, research into post-secondary transitions post-COVID; and work around abundant staffing models for the future of learning

Let's dive deeper into the real-world impact that programs like these have on our young people's futures.
